Hey Amanda, trust me, the trim wasn’t really all that nice. It looked as though about 20 different curtain hardwares had been either nailed or screwed into each on. After we filled all the holes, paint was really the only option :/ I’m with you on keeping original wood intact! Nadya Elvina February 26, 2015
Can't say enough good things about these painters. Mr. Lee's team of O, Jeff, and Chris were exceptional. They started the exterior painting with prep on Saturday and finished including touch ups on Thursday. Well worth it. The house looks amazing with neighbors stopping to ask for their information.

A Word About Lead Paint: Before scraping or sanding paint on a home built before 1978, test the paint for lead. (For more information, see Testing for Lead). Sanding or scraping paint that contains lead can be very hazardous to the health of your family. You can buy an inexpensive lead-test kit online or at a home improvement center.
While tipping house painters is neither expected nor required, you may want to do so, especially if they exceeded your expectations in any way or went above and beyond for the job. How much? Some advocate tipping 15 to 2o percent, but on a $5,000 bill, that adds up to a whole lot. I like this advice I found in a Washington Post story better: It recommends a $10 to $20 tip, plus a glowing online review. “Even better than a tip, however, would be to give the painter a positive review on Yelp, HomeAdvisor or similar websites. And consider providing breakfast (coffee and doughnuts) or a pizza lunch for the crew.”

If it has been a while since you last painted, chances are, your home is in need of a new paint job. Homeowners face common issues, such as cracking in the stucco, discoloration, peeling, flaking, and chipping of the outer layer. If you live in an area such as Daly City, San Francisco, Marin County, Oakland, or anywhere else in the Bay Area, your home deals with weathering. Throughout the year, your home faces different extremes of weathering. The Bay Area is a place where houses can experience a huge range of environmental conditions. Over time, this can wear down even the sturdiest of houses, causing aesthetic losses which make the house appear aged.
