Another top exterior blue paint color is Naval (SW 6244). A popular medium or dark blue house color, it sits on the warmer side of the exterior color wheel. When compared to Benjamin Moore’s “Hale Navy”, Naval is more of a classic Navy with fewer grey undertones.
Painting can be one of the easier building trades to get into because you probably don’t need a license. Here in Florida, most work that doesn’t involve structural components of a house doesn’t require a license.

Now, in the likely case that two coats are needed, you’d take the number of gallons and multiply by 1.7 for the second coat. This is the industry standard for second coat coverage, which normally takes 30% less material than the first coat.
Would you recommend the same course of action if a portion of the Tudor-Lite exterior were covered in a reddish brick? Actually – I often recommend the trim and body (siding) be painted the same color when there is a lot of brick or stone on the home. But I wouldn’t suggest a white with brick, as it will look too stark against the warmth of the brick and mortar. You might try matching the trim/siding to the color of the brick’s grout – that is often the best choice!
After unpackaging the product I immediately decided to try with water here are my results:
Pressed button and pulled back trigger let go of handle while still holding trigger and immediately it emptied the tube into the sink at super soaker strength kinda like a little water gun you keep in your boat when going down the river to get your friends ...
A fresh coat of paint can get your house sparkling for spring, but it doesn't have to stop there. The Experts In Your Home painting service also offers:
If the trim and body had been painted out different colors, it could have become really busy, really quickly. Choosing to paint out the same color white makes the house stand out in its wooded landscape, while keeping it clean and classy.
For larger gaps or cracks, choose a latex-based insulating foam sealant that expands into the area to be sealed, providing an effective barrier against both pests and drafts. You can buy insulating caulk online at Amazon.
Semi-gloss paints are more durable, shiny, and easy to clean. However, they draw attention to any flaws on the surface. High-gloss paints also reflect light very well, which makes the paint seem brighter. Depending on what type of paint you choose, you can expect to pay between $10 and $70 for a gallon of interior paint or between $15 and $70 for a gallon of exterior paint.
If your house is smaller than average and you use particularly cheap paint and primer, your project could cost as little as $829 even with professional labor. On the flip side, painting a large multi-story home with high-quality paint might raise the price to $8,460 or even more.
You may need to do this sooner in a child’s bedroom since the walls will most likely encounter more wear and tear. Areas that experience more foot traffic, like hallways, need to be painted more often —generally between two to three years. This will keep them free of scratches, scuffs, and other blemishes.
Preparations for a paint job generally include completing any repairs, pressure washing, sanding, and more. Cleanup costs will usually include the cost of clearing away any extra paint and garbage and properly disposing of everything at the landfill.
Cleaning involves removing any pollen, mildew, dirt, and any loose paint, by pressure washing. This usually only takes a few hours, but it will need to dry afterward. On a house with wood siding, the drying may take a day or more.
Plan your painting project when the weather is warm and dry. If it’s too cold outside, work goes slowly and paint won’t dry. If it’s too hot outside, the paint may dry too quickly, which leaves marks. Also, rain, humidity, and the wind delay drying time, and harm the end result.
The ceilings are all covered in popcorn finish. We really didn’t want to keep the texture at all, but decided to forgo removing it to save money since it’s mainly an aesthetic preference anyway. But we wanted to at least get the ceiling back to looking white. Previous residents must have been smokers, as the ceiling in the living and dining room had taken on a gross yellow patina. Although popcorn with butter is delicious, you don’t want your ceiling to look like buttered popcorn. There were some unsightly water stains as well. We initially just tried painting over the stains with KILZ primer (we actually just tested one spot to experiment.) The water based primer didn’t have a chance against the stain, and within minutes it was seeping through the (several) coats of primer.
Unlike conventional masking tape, painter’s tape—the blue type—has an adhesive backing that is only mildly sticky. This makes it much easier to remove without damaging the paint or finish. Stickier 3-inch painter’s tape is better for holding down paper and plastic drop cloths. Masking inside of window with plastic sheeting keeps dust, debris and fumes outdoors during trim painting. © Kit Vandervort, HomeTips
