Dear I.S. Thank you for requesting a painting estimate from House Painting Inc. Unfortunately, we are not able to do the job at… more
Some house painters like to take on many jobs at once to make more money. They hire sub-contractors to actually do the work while they go out and find more jobs. It’s a situation you want to avoid. Instead choose a painter who actually does the work or who has full-time employees do the work.

"I hired Josh Douglas with A Painter's Touch to paint our home several months ago. I am always pretty specific with any contractor I hire because I want to make sure I get what I want and get what I am paying for. Josh had no problem with my specifications and was always on time. The price we set prior to the job, was the price I paid, NO HIDDEN FEES! The job was completed on time. His painting was absolute perfection. I would definitely recommend Josh and A Painter's Touch to anyone and I appreciate his honesty and integrity!"
So I read a lot of painting blogs to make sure I understand what my clients want. I gotta say, this post is amazing! You applied what you learned far faster than the majority of my employees ever do. I totally respect what you did because it what I do everyday. I’ll end with this, YES buy higher quality gear people. It makes a huge difference and why would you want all of your time and money to go to waste? Alexis Jaye May 13, 2021

The amount of time it takes to prepare a house to be painted varies a lot. For an average house you should plan a full day for protection of non-painted items, priming, and surface preparation. However, if the wood or previous paint has deteriorated, it could take a lot longer.

Some siding materials are rougher or more porous than others, so it will take more coats of paint and primer to cover them. The result is a higher material cost and longer work hours.

It looks fantastic! I do have a couple of questions: how did it do through the winter? Do you have any regrets? And if your eves were same color as the siding, how would you paint those? Eves are my main concern…. August 14, 2021 August 28, 2021
5.0 out of 5 stars It works well if you follow the directions I've read the negative reviews and haven't found them to match my good experience with the painter. I like the edger very much and recommend it with these cautions: You must read the directions and follow them, and you do have to keep the O-ring and spout clean after filling and before remounting the paint pad. I strongly advise practicing first with water rather than paint to see how the thumb lever and plunger loop work in a coordinated way. That will demonstrate why some people describe paint going where they don't want it. If you release the lever in the wrong order you will eject paint. I always fill the edger aimed down into the paint can and in a coordinated way as described in the directions, so it's never been a problem.
Prep work for old homes can be especially difficult. Poor prep work on an exterior will mean needing to re-paint sooner (sometimes literally within 1-2 years), which will cost far more time and money than doing it correctly in the first place. In fact, a good professional paint company may use more than half of the entire project time preparing a surface to paint. Trust the process; this time could be difference in hundreds of hours and dollars.
