Starting with some paint swatches, I narrowed down my choices to Swiss Coffee by Behr. The most perfect creamy white. Bright, but not too bright. Warm, but not too warm. I am so happy with it! Not to mention, it perfectly matches my lime-washed fireplace! Side note: I DID consider going that route (lime-wash) for the exterior, but chose not to because of availability issues from Covid.

I was learery due to the negitive reviews but this tool seems great for what it's used for ... I recommend practice on the pressure with water before actually using it to get the idea but I can see how jamming the button all the way down even in little quick bursts could cause some major paint problems on your wall ... but with a few minutes of practice you'll quickly see how it works and be able to quickly tackle your edging problems! Im not sure how dumb you gotta be to rate this below 5 stars but there are folks out there that need help. I finally had a chance to use this to paint my stair skirts before my new stair steps are installed. Not only did I NOT MAKE ANY MESS, I was able to put three coats on in 4 hours. It took me longer to wait for the paint to dry then to put it on (30 minutes maybe for both sides!). It looks professionally done and hardly used any paint! Only thing I had to clean was the tool. Love this little gem!
Having said that, preparation work or repair work can increase the price if you want the job done right. Prep work like patching holes, repairing cracks in drywall, replacing warped corner tape, and caulking gaps take time. However, theses tasks are essential in achieving great quality finishes.
In addition to laying drop cloths and taping, damaged walls may need sanding, patching, stripping, caulking, spackling, and crack repair before painting. Plus, you may need trim and baseboard installation, window replacement, furniture moving, or wallpaper removal. To estimate the amount of paint you'll need for the trim, estimate the length of total trim. The average trim width is six inches. Multiply the total trim length by 0.5 feet. To estimate the gutter, determine the total length of the gutter. One linear foot of gutter approximates one square foot. TIP: As a rule, one gallon of paint will cover trim and gutters per eight gallons of body paint.

"Josh was referred to me to paint the interior of my kitchen and living room. I was immediately surprised by his professionalism. He was always prompt, professional, very enjoyable to work with and did a wonderful job. Josh was always concerned that I was happy and he was always accommodating. I was so impressed with his work that I have accelerated, the time schedule, for a large painting job I have planned. I look forward to using his firm again and recommending him to others. I am very pleased with his work. Thank you Josh!!"
Stairways can be tricky when it comes to painting costs. Most stairway paint jobs offer some level of complexity regarding ladder placement and restricted ease of access.
While tipping house painters is neither expected nor required, you may want to do so, especially if they exceeded your expectations in any way or went above and beyond for the job. How much? Some advocate tipping 15 to 2o percent, but on a $5,000 bill, that adds up to a whole lot. I like this advice I found in a Washington Post story better: It recommends a $10 to $20 tip, plus a glowing online review. “Even better than a tip, however, would be to give the painter a positive review on Yelp, HomeAdvisor or similar websites. And consider providing breakfast (coffee and doughnuts) or a pizza lunch for the crew.”
When it comes to improving your home, one of the quickest, easiest, and least expensive ways to make a significant impact is to paint the siding and trim. Nothing protects the structure, revives weatherworn siding, or adds visual style faster or more effectively than a new paint job.

When it comes to painting your home, it’s important to think about the interior and exterior as a single unit. While your interior does not need to be a perfect match for your exterior, there should be a sense of harmony. To choose your exterior colors, think about your style of home and the color of your roof, railings 2, and doors.
It is very difficult to determine how a particular color will look on your walls, and with your lighting. If you have a color in mind, it is a good idea to buy a sample.
