Plan to use painter’s tape when you want to maintain a straight edge between colors of paint to avoid peeling-away the painted finish when you remove the tape. Be sure to remove both painter’s tape and masking tape as soon as the final finish is dry.

"Our house looks great! Everyone was patient throughout and committed to ensuring we were satisfied customers as we vacillated with respect to color schemes, etc. The house had not been painted for years and the siding and fascia were badly weathered. Charles' commitment to quality ensured there was no skimping on the prep work, after which the painting went smoothly and beautifully. We were well informed throughout the job. Would recommend."
The size will also affect how much primer and paint you’ll need to purchase. As a reference, one gallon of any Behr paint will cover approximately 250 to 400 square feet (one coat). Your home will most likely need two coats, especially if you’re choosing a darker color.
For maximum adhesion, you may want to apply two coats of primer over the surface.
When painting along glass, don’t bother to mask it if you have a steady hand. Allow the paint to lap onto the glass by about 1/16 inch. Remove the wet paint from the glass with a rag wrapped around the end of a putty knife. Then, after the paint sets-up, use a razor blade to remove any remaining paint.
From the sheer amount of time it takes, to the cleanup efforts and the literal pain in the neck you get from painting the ceiling, doing your own interior painting is anything but easy. Awesome post! I just wanted to add a couple tips about cleaning brushes that might be helpful. If you’re painting and are coming back for second coats later the same day, you can put your brush in a ziplock bag to keep it from drying out while you’re taking a break. When cleaning your brushes, use Murphy Oil Soap, it really helps to get the paint off and is eco friendly. You can even soak brushes in it and clean them later on if you’re a giant procrastinator like I am 🙂 I love following your progress with this house and am so stoked to see the finished product! Cheers and have a great day! Alexandra February 25, 2015 Jill @ Champagne for Everyday February 25, 2015
"After searching the CCO page for painters and recommendations, I gave Josh with A Painters Touch, LLC a call. Josh had planned on having a day for himself but after telling him that this was the second time I had cleared the room to be painted only to be stood up, he stepped up to knock out the job and within an hour the room was on it's way to a new color. He was prompt, courteous, neat, professional and did a fantastic job. If you have any painting or pressure washing needs I would highly recommend giving him a call. Thanks Josh for a job well done!"
Latex is less durable, though, and more prone to scratches and damage from the elements.
