Though it may seem like rain and snow can appear at any time in Colorado, the highest rainfall tends to arrive in spring. Waiting until dry weather arrives before starting an exterior paint job gives your home’s siding a chance to dry out after winter snow and spring rain. Waterlogged siding can compromise paint’s ability to dry properly, but experienced painting contractors in Evergreen, CO can determine when your siding’s moisture has reached a workable level. Contractors should also know when wet weather is on the horizon and can avoid it as necessary. .

A good place to start is to ask a trusted friend or general contractor for a recommendation. For my Cape Cod cottage, I found a great painter who painted the homes of my cousin, a contractor; my aunt, an architect; and my other aunt, who is even more picky than the other two. Prior to this painter however, I had hired a guy based on the recommendation of another friend with a similar historic house. Disaster! The paint job didn’t last two years. That’s why even with a recommendation, Nigel suggests you do some online research. Find out if others agree with your friend’s or relative’s assessment of the painter’s work, or if the contractor has experience working on your type of house. (When it comes to painting, modern and vintage homes are whole different animals.) A master painter is the best at their job, which is why they charge the most. Labor for painting with a master painter costs between $60 and $100 per hour. When completing a job on their own, master painters know exactly how to complete the job no matter the complexity. If you have multiple painters on the job, a master painter will supervise and manage the project, so you don’t have to worry about anything.
Color can be overwhelming for some. However, do not let a fear of color make you choose white, off white, or beige.Trying a few different colors will allow you to create a specific feeling in the room. For instance, dark colors add texture and depth to the space. This is particularly true if the room is very large with high ceilings. On the other hand, if you have a small room, such as a guest bath with no natural light, brighter, lighter colors can really open up the space and make it feel much larger.Essentially, don’t be afraid of color—experiment to see what works—you may be surprised!
Spraying is usually better for large homes because you can cover more surface faster.
Interior commercial painters charge $2 to $6 per square foot, while exterior jobs that require scaffolding cost $5 to $10+ per square foot. Commercial painting crews can work on five or more units at a time, are usually highly skilled, and they can complete large projects.
