As we mentioned in our last update, the house is coming along, and we can’t wait to share more with you soon. We’ve learned a LOT while working on this project! One task we recently completed was painting all of the interior. A lot more goes into painting than you might guess, so I thought it would be fun to share a thorough breakdown of everything we encountered and learned as we painted this house. The old process of prepping a room before sanding was to lay down drop cloths on the ground and cover all furniture, because sanding kicked up enormous amounts of dust and debris. It was a painful necessity, but with an innovative tool like the Festool on the market, the process has been dramatically simplified and made considerably more efficient.
Even if you go it alone, specialize to keep your initial investment low. First, take some masking tape and completely wrap your new roller cover like a mummy. When you remove the tape it will take any loose fibers with it so they don't end up on your wall.
Then on the day that painting started, I met 2 wonderful gentlemen who also walked my property and verified what was to be painted. The were very professional, respectful and provided the highest level of customer service. My house has now been painted snd looks wonderful.
