You should paint your house exterior every 5 to 10 years. Painted wood surfaces last 4 to 8 years while brick and stucco can last 6 to 11 years. Of course, this depends on how much care your painters put into exterior prep work. A poorly painted exterior won’t last 1 or 2 seasons before the paint starts peeling. That’s why hiring an exterior painting company with a good written warranty like Improovy is important. .

Consider things like trim and doors. You might want to re-paint worn areas or strip and stain or re-stain. These parts of older homes are key to their character. You will need to decide if you will be OK with cratering, ridges and different levels of paint under the final product. Every home is different, so it’s difficult to say how long your exterior paint job will actually last. Most painting experts will tell you that most homes needed to be painted every five to ten years. However, based on where you live, the general climate, and how good your previous paint job was, this timeline can differ greatly!
Another important thing that increases the lifespan of your paint job is to apply multiple coats. Additional paint coats will serve as a barrier that protects your home from damage from weather or other elements. Make sure that you apply these coats correctly, however, and double-check that the sides and bottoms of all corner boards, window sashes, and additional exterior trim have been painted.
2. Smooth For Appearance: Backroll over the "M" you just created to smooth out the paint that's heavy in those areas for an even application over your 5' coverage area.
