Once more, I hired House Painting to do the interior of our new condo. I didn't bother to get bids from other companies as I'm confident they're very reasonable and honest based on my past experiences from them. James is such a nice person to deal with. He sent Nam and Armando and both did an excellent job. They're very detailed and worked really hard to make sure we're happy. Final results made us beyond happy. We love the job they did. We will continue to recommend House Painting.
Another great tutorial. You guys really put out some great and helpful posts. I was especially happy to see that you kept the popcorn ceiling! I feel like there is so much pressure to get rid of your popcorn ceiling if you have it, but it is so expensive especially if you have asbestos. It is really such a minor thing I don’t think it should get as much flak as it does. Besides, I am convinced if I wait long enough, the popcorn ceilings will make a comeback;) .
5.0 out of 5 stars It works well if you follow the directions I've read the negative reviews and haven't found them to match my good experience with the painter. I like the edger very much and recommend it with these cautions: You must read the directions and follow them, and you do have to keep the O-ring and spout clean after filling and before remounting the paint pad. I strongly advise practicing first with water rather than paint to see how the thumb lever and plunger loop work in a coordinated way. That will demonstrate why some people describe paint going where they don't want it. If you release the lever in the wrong order you will eject paint. I always fill the edger aimed down into the paint can and in a coordinated way as described in the directions, so it's never been a problem.

When pricing a painting job, begin by measuring the wall space that you need to have painted. Multiply the total square feet by an average cost of $2.00 for interior projects and $3.00 for exterior projects.

The paintable area of most homes ranges from 500 square feet on the small end to 4,000 square feet on the large end. You’ll usually pay between $1.25 and $4.17 per square foot for professional painting, or a national average rate of $2.71 per square foot. We used that average to calculate the approximate overall cost to paint homes of several different sizes.
You should also look at the weather for a few days before you begin to paint because if it rains before your painting day, you need to give your siding several days to dry out before painting. The same applies after you paint- you want to make sure that there will be no rain after painting job since the paint has to be given time to cure properly.
If your painter is going to move or cover your furniture for you, super. If not, do that. Some companies will move furniture, and some prefer to have the homeowner take care of it to avoid any issues with potential damage.

Homes built before 1978 may have paint with lead in it. That’s a whole can of worms you do not want to open without professional help. 4. Go dark—and save money! If your home was built before 1978, it’s a good idea to inspect for harmful lead paint, inside and out. In fact, a lead paint inspection is sometimes a requirement for real estate transactions involving pre-1978 homes.
